PREAMBLE
The issue of Gratuity has evolved over the years. A major challenge of the scheme was the inability of employers to cash-back it. One significant fall-out of the burden faced in paying gratuity was the yearning of employers for a unified terminal benefit scheme, especially following the enactment of the Pension Reform Act 2004.
The Pension Reform Act 2004, amended in 2014 introduced the dispensation of a Statutory-backed Defined Contributory (DC) Pension Scheme. While some organizations have successfully migrated to the unified Pension scheme, others are still grappling with the intransigence of Stakeholders, especially the Unions.
In the face of increasing costs of doing business, the question to ponder is, ‘what is your situation in this gratuity quagmire? What strategy had been used by those who have successfully exited gratuity and eased into a robust unified benefit scheme?’
This programme will expose participants to the intricacies and strategies of exiting the gratuity dispensation, both in the Unionised and non-unionised enterprises. Participants will understand strategies to manage challenges that might arise from the exercise.
