Re-appointment of Sir Joseph Ari as Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Director-General/Chief Executive – NECA commends Government.
Following the re-appointment of Sir Joseph Ari, as the Director-General/Chief Executive of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for a second term of 4 years, the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) commends Government for recognizing the unusual strides and achievements of the ITF under the leadership of Sir Joseph Ari.
Speaking to newsmen in Lagos, the Director-General of NECA, Dr. Timothy Olawale stated that “the re-appointment of Sir Joseph Ari as Director-General/Chief Executive of ITF is a welcome development because the ITF, under his leadership has become more focused, result-oriented, achievement-driven and strategically repositioned in the pursuit of the aims and objectives of the ITF. The strides achieved in the development of critical and technically Skilled manpower for industries and national development is commendable and worthy of emulation.”
While urging Sir Joe Ari not to rest on his oars, the NECA Boss urged that “the verifiable achievements of technical skills development of the past four years should motivate the newly re-appointed DG into greater actions. The challenge of increasing youth unemployment and paucity of critical technical skills for national development has become an emergency. While the ITF, under Sir Joe Ari has done creditably well, we urge Government to show more commitment in the promotion of technical skills development as a panacea for the nation’s industrial development challenge.”
Concluding his remarks, Dr. Timothy Olawale expressed that “we congratulate the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and the generality of the ITF family for the re-appointment of an achiever as the DG/Chief Executive of the ITF”
