Ongoing #ENDSARS Protest: Position of Organized Businesses.

Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), the umbrella body of organized businesses in Nigeria is concerned about the implications of the on-going mass protest, lock-down and disruption of normal activities of Nigerians, businesses and the economy in major cities of the country.

These implications include massive loss of productive hours, and return on investment in an economy that is still struggling to come out of the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. This protest is also capable of causing massive divestment and discouragement of new investors.

We, therefore, call on all Stakeholders and the entire citizenry to prioritize safety of lives and properties, security of all Nigerians including protesters and corporate bodies whilst ensuring that Nigerians are free to go about their lawful activities unhindered and unmolested.
