Change of Guard at Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA)
In a statement released by Mr. Olusegun Oshinowo, the Director General of NECA, he explained that Dr. Yinusa, the Managing Director of DN Tyre & Rubber Plc was elected the new President. Also elected to run the affairs of the Association for the next two years were Mr. Taiwo Adeniyi, Group Managing Director of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc as 1st Vice President; Mr. Mauricio Alarcon, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nestle Nigeria Plc as 2nd Vice President and Mr. Vassily Oye Barberopoulos of Metec West Africa Limited, as its Honourable Treasurer.
In the same vein, the out-gone President, Mr. Larry Ettah, informed the meeting that Mr. Olusegun Oshinowo, the Director-General of NECA had served the Association notice of his intention to proceed on retirement, after 19 years of meritorious and selfless service, on 31st December 2018. It would mark the end of another epoch in the evolution of the Association.
However, Mr. Timothy Olawale, Director of Membership Services in NECA, had been designated as his successor. He would take the mantle of leadership from 1st January 2019. Before his appointment as the Director-General Designate, Mr. Timothy Olawale served as Executive Secretary of Hotel and Personal Services Employers Association for five (5) years before joining NECA in April 2011.
The newly elected officials were charged with the onerous responsibility of maintaining the enviable tradition of excellence that the Association is renowned for. In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Dr. Mohammed Yinusa expressed his appreciation to members of the Association for the confidence reposed in them. He promised that his team would do all that is necessary to keep the tradition of the Association and take it to greater heights.
I congratulate my brother, Mr Segun Oshinowo on his retirement from NECA. He had served meritoriously and deserved all accolades, as a perfect and accomplished administrator. I wish him the best in his future endeavours.
Also, I welcome Mr Timothy Olawale, the Director-General designate, to office. I wish you God’s devine wisdom in the great tasks ahead.
